Manchester is one of the UK’s most accessible cities, with excellent international and domestic transport links. You can reach the conference venue easily by air, rail, or road.
By Air
Manchester Airport (MAN) is the UK's third-busiest airport, with direct routes from across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. It is approximately 9 miles south of the city centre.
From the Airport to the Conference Venue
-
By Train (recommended): The fastest option. Trains run every 10 minutes to Manchester Oxford Road (18–21 min, closest to venue) and Manchester Piccadilly. The station is within the airport terminal complex.
-
By Taxi: Around 20 minutes without traffic. Black cab ranks outside each terminal. Apps: Uber, Bolt, and Street Cars. Approx. £25–£35.
-
By Bus: Route 43 from the Airport Bus Station to Piccadilly Gardens, stopping at Oxford Road. Journey is about 35–45 minutes (most economical option).
-
By Metrolink: A tram service is available but slower (~55 min). We recommend the train for airport transfers.
By Train
Manchester is superbly connected by rail. Intercity services arrive into Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road (the closer station to the venue) from all major UK cities.
-
London Euston → Manchester Piccadilly (approx. 2 h 30 min).
-
Birmingham New Street → Manchester Piccadilly (approx. 1 h 30 min).
-
Leeds → Manchester Victoria (approx. 55 min).
-
Edinburgh Waverley → Manchester Piccadilly (approx. 3 h 30 min).
-
Liverpool Lime Street → Manchester Victoria / Oxford Road (approx. 35–45 min).
From continental Europe by train
-
The simplest route from continental Europe is by Eurostar to London St Pancras, then a short walk or one Underground stop to London Euston, then a direct train to Manchester Piccadilly (approx. 2 h 10 min).
-
This is often comparable to flying door-to-door — and considerably more reliable, as short-haul European flights are frequently cancelled at short notice, especially in June. Book via Eurostar or Trainline.
By Car & Parking
Manchester is accessible from all directions via the UK motorway network.
-
From London / South: M1 northbound → M6 (Junction 19) → M56/A57 into the city. Approx. 210 miles / 3–4 hours (variable with traffic).
-
From Leeds / Yorkshire: M62 westbound. Approx. 45 miles.
-
From Liverpool: M62 eastbound. Approx. 35 miles.
-
From Scotland / North: M6 southbound.
